Do we as human beings actually see what is real with our eyes or is it really just the brain that is doing the seeing?  Do we see perhaps what we expect to see rather than what actually is?

How much more information do our eyes pick up in our daily lives, which the brain filters because it does not expect it to be there. Do we actually live in a constant state of illusion?

In a simple experiment, Dr Gustav Kuhn of Brunel University shows us the difference between what we actually see and what we think we’ve seen during a simple magic trick. This disparity allows magicians to create illusions which both fool and entertain us. The Language of Illusion – Horizon – BBC.
