Do the Eyes See or is it Really the Brain?

imagesDo we as human beings actually see what is real with our eyes or is it really just the brain that is doing the seeing?  Do we see perhaps what we expect to see rather than what actually is?

How much more information do our eyes pick up in our daily lives, which the brain filters because it does not expect it to be there. Do we actually live in a constant state of illusion?

In a simple experiment, Dr Gustav Kuhn of Brunel University shows us the difference between what we actually see and what we think we’ve seen during a simple magic trick. This disparity allows magicians to create illusions which both fool and entertain us. The Language of Illusion – Horizon – BBC.

I really love your website.. Very nice colors & theme… Did you create this web site yourself? Please reply back as I’m looking to create my own website and would like to find out where you got this from or just what the theme is called… Thanks! I remember Dr. Joe teaching us that we “fill in reality based on our memories”. As the magisian tossed the ball up twice, a memory was formed and the brain expected the red ball to be tossed again, esp with the context clues of his head looking upwards and his arm motion, all contributing to the neural net labeled “ball throwing”. Although I could be inaccurate, I think I’ll begin being keen to my pattern recognition and initiating mindsight: the brains ability to see itself. And switching my hierarchy from eyes to brain to brain as eyes. And asking myself, am I seeing all there is to see? What else could I be missing, how would I behave otherwise. Great information Admin! I enjoyed the video, I watched it 5 times at least
